Private 2 Day Marrakech to Zagora Desert Tour

Your driver picks you up at your Marrakech riad or hotel around 07:30 — or later if you prefer, it's your tour. You drive southeast through the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka pass (2,260 m), stopping at the viewpoints and Berber villages you like along the way.

Mid-morning, explore the UNESCO-listed Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou — the fortified village seen in Gladiator and Game of Thrones — with the option of a local Berber guide. Continue to Ouarzazate for lunch at your own pace.

In the afternoon you head south past Agdz into the Draa Valley, Morocco's longest oasis — endless date palms, old kasbahs and henna fields. Arriving in Zagora in the late afternoon:

• Sunset camel trek across the desert to your Berber camp
• Moroccan dinner at the camp
• Berber drumming around the campfire
• Night under a sky full of stars

• Sunrise camel ride as the light spreads across the desert
• Moroccan breakfast back at camp

You drive back through the Draa Valley to Ouarzazate and visit the Taourirt Kasbah, a former palace complex — with an optional stop at the Atlas Film Studios, the "Hollywood of Africa." Lunch at your leisure.

In the afternoon you cross the Tizi n'Tichka pass one last time, arriving back in Marrakech in the late afternoon with drop-off at your hotel or riad.
