Private 3 Day Fes to Marrakech Desert Tour

Your driver collects you from your Fes hotel or riad early in the morning. You cross the Saiss plains to Ifrane — "the Switzerland of Morocco" — then climb into the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas, stopping at Azrou to spot the Barbary apes by the roadside.

After lunch in Midelt, you descend through the spectacular Ziz Valley — dramatic cliffs, fortified kasbahs and thousands of date palms — as the landscape turns to desert. Through Erfoud, the dunes of Erg Chebbi appear: welcome to Merzouga, on your very first day.

The evening is the highlight:

You continue to the holy town of Rissani — birthplace of the ruling Alaouite dynasty — and its famous dates market. Then on to the oasis town of Tinghir for a walk along the Todra riverbank through palm groves and Berber villages, before reaching the Todra Gorge, where limestone cliffs rise 300 meters above the walkable riverbed. Lunch in the gorge (own expense).

In the afternoon you drive the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs into the Dades Valley. Dinner and overnight at a comfortable hotel — private ensuite room, dinner and breakfast included.

After breakfast, drive through the Valley of Roses to Kelaat M'Gouna — with a visit to a rosewater cooperative (blooms in April–May) — then past the palm-filled Skoura oasis to Ouarzazate.

Around midday you explore UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou, the fortified village from Gladiator and Game of Thrones, with lunch at a café facing the ksar.

In the afternoon you cross the High Atlas via the Tizi n'Tichka pass (2,260 m), arriving in Marrakech in the late afternoon with drop-off at your hotel or riad — desert crossed, transfer done, three landscapes in three days.
